MY CHOSEN ONE: Muhammad in the Bible

 
MY CHOSEN ONE…


Obviously; if you are reading the translation of a translation of a translation...you get lost in translation. You will not find the name “Muhammad” in the English translation of the Bible.

MY CHOSEN ONE…
Isaiah 42:1 “Here is my servant whom I uphold, my chosen one whom I delight; I will put my spirit on him and he will bring justice to the nation. He will not shout or cry out, or raise his voice in the street. A bruised reed he will not break and smoldering wick he will not snuff out. In faithfulness he will bring forth justice; he will not falter or be discouraged till he establishes justice on Earth. In his law, the Islands will put their hope…Let the desert and its towns raise their voices; Let the settlements where Kedar lives rejoice. Let the people of Selah sing for joy. Let them shout from the mountaintops; let them give glory to the Lord and proclaim his praise in the Islands. The Lord will march out like a mighty man, like a warrior he will stir up his zeal, with a shout, he will raise the battle cry and will triumph over his enemies.” 

Isaiah 42 above is a brief prophetic biography of a prophet coming from Arabia from among the generations of Kedar, Ishmael’s son.  Early Muslims were persecuted in Mecca but the prophet was a non-violent man. He endured the cruelties of the idol worshipping pagans in Arabia. Friends and relatives were murdered. He was even stoned in one place but he endured it all. He sent his followers to Abyssinia to seek protection under a Christian king. Thirteen years later, he had to escape to Medina. Only after he received a word from God to fight back and proclaim justice to the world did he marshal the Muslim armies from one victory to another. The great empires of the time succumbed one after another to Islam’s rising “EMPIRE OF FAITH” exactly as foretold by Isaiah in 42:13 - “The Lord will march out like a mighty man, like a warrior he will stir up his zeal, with a shout he will raise the battle cry and will triumph over his enemies.” 

The shouts at the mountaintops (Muslim’s call to prayer) where the sons of Kedar live echoed through all the corners of the planet. 

In the standard version of the Bible, Isaiah 42 is entitled; “A NEW SONG FOR THE LORD” which is the recitation of the Holy Qur’an that was revealed to the prophet.
[The key word in the above prophecy is “Kedar.” Christians believe Isaiah 42 as referring to Jesus which is obviously not because this prophecy refers to the generations of Kedar; Ishmael’s second son from whom the prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) was descended.]

KEDAR: Dark-skinned, the second son of Ishmael (Genesis 25:13).
It is the name for the nomadic tribes of Arabs, the Bedouins generally (Isaiah
21:16; 42:11; 60:7; Jeremiah 2:10; Ezek. 27:21), who dwelt in the north-west of Arabia. They lived in black hair-tents (Cant. 1:5). To "dwell in the tents of Kedar" was to be cut off from the worship of the true God (Psalm 120:5). The Kedarites suffered at the hands of Nebuchadnezzar (Jeremiah 49:28, 29).

    “Behold, 'My Servant' (pronounced as Abd-ee), ‘whom I uphold’ (pronounced as Atmak);

    God mentioning about the coming of His servant
    Behold My Servant Ahmad (Isaiah 42:1) - so who is this Ahmad as in God'servant?

  2. You seem to be getting the verses mixed up in your mind.

    Isa 42:11 Let the wilderness and its cities lift up their voices, The settlements where Kedar inhabits. Let the inhabitants of Sela sing aloud, Let them shout for joy from the tops of the mountains.

    It says nothing about the where the "Servant, whom I uphold" comes from, though it does say he will "will bring justice to the nation" which can only mean Israel in the Biblical context.

    You say the key word is Kedar, but all it says is from the wildness to the cities of Kedar should lift up their voices. Sela are also supposed to sing, but this doesn't mean a prophet will come from there.

    The passage simply gives places and peoples who will rejoice in his coming. You've overlapped your theology and read things into the text that are not said. Yes Kedar was in Arabia, but as far as the verse says those people from the wilderness to the cities will be "lifting up their voices". It says no more. If one was to accept your reasoning, one would also have to include Islands and coastal people, and the people of Sela as prophets which I do not think you believe. It simply isn't saying this person is coming from any of these areas, but that people all over will be rejoicing, then gives many locations this will happen.

    2. Huh! There is nothing mysterious about this prophecy. It is exactly what it says it is – THE CHOSEN ONE OF GOD. The life of the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) is divided in two phases: his life in Mecca and his life in Medina. In this prophecy; a gentle being (Life in Mecca) who initially cannot even break a stick suddenly turned into God’ avenging angel (Life in Medina). If you tell me that this Prophecy refers to Jesus – I say ha ha ha. This prophecy is even entitled surprisingly as “A New Song for the Lord” which is the recitation of the Holy Qur’an that was revealed to the prophet.

    3. I know theres nothing mysterious, which is why I don't understand why you've come to the conclusion it talks about a Arabian prophet. It only refers to the servants message spreading to these places.

      Well why isnt it Sela? Or the Mountain tops? Or the coastal cities?

      You're taking your theology and rearranging portions from each verse to give you your vision of Muhammad.

      I got here from a Muslim posting your links on YouTube. I have no problem reading what others have to say. But your analysis of the chapter is completely wrong.

      ...And you're 100% wrong. It never says anything like that. It says that the inhabitants of Kedars wilderness and cities will "lift up their voices". It says not one thing about a prophet coming from anywhere. It doesn't tell. It only states where this "servants" message will travel to.

      ...Not a chance.If anything the Qurans a recitation in part of the Tanak, as the Tanak came first.

      My problem is that people are reading this and you're commentary is so bad. This verse says nothing about an Arab prophet. Actually it doesn't tell the nationality of that servant. It only tells where the message will go.
