Whether we like it or not; there are immensely bigger
numbers who likes if not love USA. Our relationship with USA is not only deep
rooted; it is forged in history that can never be undone that at one point in
time – Filipinos were called little brown Americans and an American governor/administrator
of the Philippine Archipelago resided in Malacanang. Once upon a time; Mindanao
and Sulu were governed separately from the rest of the archipelago as the “Moro
Province.” Not only did we fight shoulder to shoulder with the American forces in
WW II; we fought in almost every war that USA waged around the world. It is no
hyperbole therefore that a USA’s president should vow to provide the country
with an “Ironclad” defense from external threat because together for better or
worse - we have tread along the corridors of history as brothers in arms.
