When Karen King, a historian of early Christianity at Harvard University, unveiled a shred of papyrus in which Jesus refers to his “wife” and calls her a “disciple,” religious scholars arguing for a more humanized view of Jesus and a greater role for women in the church got a boost of encouragement.

But like other religious notions, the idea of a married Jesus does not need conclusive proof to cast a powerful spell. The Vatican proved that with its attack on Dan Brown’s novel The Da Vinci Code, which portrayed Jesus as married to Magdalene. Just imagining him having sex, apparently, can threaten the entrenched association of sacredness with sexlessness.

“It’s easier for Jesus not to have been married, it’s easier for him to not have wet dreams,” said Emilie Townes, a professor at Yale Divinity School. “That way we don’t have to encounter things that challenge our separation of our bodies from our souls.” Townes said a savior with sexual needs would confront the “skewed” equation of perfection with male celibacy, to which women are inevitably seen as a threat.

We may differ in opinion on how best to respond to attacks against Islam with the likes of this rubbish of a movie unfortunately the damage has been done. It is partly our fault that we made the makers of the movie succeed in their goal probably beyond their dreams of success. We did not only make them famous; we turned them into heroes among a bunch of scheming bigots out there. Millions have watched it on YouTube because Muslims made too much fuss about it with the added bonus of many Muslims dead. They must be extremely happy; even if you hang them or chop them to pieces; they will still be smiling at the extent of their success. It is for them a dream comes true and they will do it again and again because now they know our weaknesses. Muslim leaders and scholars should convene a committee of experts to device ways and means on how best to respond in the future something that should have been done years ago when the same thing happened in response to that likewise stupid cartoonist.

I found it strange that KSA; the world’s kingdom of censor neither removed nor censored it in the net. Since the name “Mohammad” is irrefutably the world’s most common name; the character in the movie could be any Mohammad in fact this movie is meant to be a protest movie against the way Coptic Christians are treated in Egypt. This movie was made by an Egyptian Coptic Christian and it was dubbed into Arabic and broadcasted by a Coptic channel in Egypt where people picked it up. Had Muslims responded differently; this would have remained unknown probably watched by few hundred or few thousand just like any other anti-Islam movie on YouTube more despicable than the one in question. A non-Muslim who would have watched this movie would have just laughed not knowing that it is meant to be a satire insulting Islam had we not made too much noise over an insignificant comic movie on the other hand; had Muslims not responded in kind; these bigots will make it a habit of making the same rubbish.

Eltahawy, who has written for this paper, was later charged with "criminal mischief" and "graffiti".

The Metropolitan Transport Authority (MTA) had originally ruled it would not permit the posters because they were demeaning, but was compelled to take the $6,000 (£3,700) ad after Geller's group went to court.

Last month US district court judge Paul Engelmayer ruled that it is protected speech under the first amendment.

"Our hands are tied," New York subway spokesman Aaron Donovan said. "Under our existing ad standards as modified by the injunction, the MTA is required to run the ad."

The posters have attracted widespread condemnation including from Jewish figures. Among those who have spoken out against them is Rabbi Rachel Kahn-Troster, of Rabbis for Human Rights — North America, who wrote for CNN online: "As a rabbi, I find the ads deeply misguided and disturbing … The coded message makes clear who the savages are: those who support jihad, which in Geller's mind includes all Muslims. She has called Islam 'an extreme ideology, the most radical and extreme ideology on the face of the Earth'.

The article is right; this ad will offend many Americans but not Muslims. It is actually poorly phrased I could have done it for them better LOL!

We have come to a point in time that because of the advent of alternate media; most Americans are no longer living in media zombie-land. If they for instance see 9/11 placed side by side with the photo of OBL; their reaction is to puke because they now know the truth. Their brain had been so bombarded 24/7 with falsehood; they feel like going out and kill somebody. The following piece first appeared at surfingtheapocalypse.net some years back in response to the cartoons of the prophet that stirred troubles across the Muslim world when it was published in some European countries. The latest of this affront against Islam is the movie that I just read on papers that is causing uproar in Muslim nations with the first casualty no less than the USA’s ambassador to Libya. It is very possible that the assault on the USA’s embassy is fueled by the suppressed but simmering anger of Libyans against USA/NATO bombing of Libya in the recent Libyan upheaval that led to the downfall and brutal murder of Khaddaffy. Only USA has to blame for its ambassador’s death; it must be prepared for more.

Mustapha Akkad and the making of “THE MESSAGE”

In my desire to mention Mustapha Akkad; I needed to make few clicks on google search that confused me because I thought for quite long time that Mustapha Akkad was the creator of the Friday the 13^th from a magazine article I read in the very early 80’s. Either it was the writer who was confused or it was me who misread the article. It was the “Halloween” series not the “Friday the 13^th” that that he created but there was another I am sure I was right and Wiki was wrong.

According to Wikipedia; Mustapha Akkad produced and directed “Muhammad; Messenger of God” that in some countries was shown as “The Message” in 1976 while the “Halloween” was created in 1978. It is not possible because according to the article i read; Mustapha Akkad created and produced the “Halloween” movie as independent with 60,000 dollars which was the only money he had. Surprisingly; it became a hit where he netted 6,000 million dollars and in the 60s and 70s; 6 million dollars was huge.

He became an instant celebrity in Hollywood that eventually led to the making of “The Message” and the “Lion of the Desert” meaning the Halloween movie came first. It was some kind of a flagship to get noticed.

He used the money he earned from the “Halloween” to make “The Message.”

Very ironic and sad; he was killed along with his daughter and other guests while attending a wedding reception at a hotel in Amman Jordan in 2005 by a suicide bomber.

Israeli borders aren't threatened. Iran supports peace, not war. Its nuclear program is legal and non-military. It fully complies with NPT provisions.

Those issues deserve daily headlines. Don't expect warmongering media to feature them.

The daily added that the US aims to prevent an Iranian attack on the US installations in the Persian Gulf, where it has deployed aircraft carriers and has several military bases. 

Israel’s political officials have noted that the US move is an indication of more strained ties between Washington and Tel Aviv.
