DU30: Maranaw President - THE LUCKY ONE!

Some people are born to be lucky. They don't create; they just fulfill their destinies. The Marawi siege is a perplexing incident that is whether we like it or not a lucky shot for the president - most if not all of the country's top terrorist LEADERS and DIE-HARDS (local and foreign) all 700 of them converged in Marawi to what; DIE.

It will take quite sometimes maybe not in the term of DU30 for the terror group to reorganize as a potent force – again.

The siege although it was very expensive in terms of lives lost and property damaged; it was probably worth it in terms of the longer effect – redrawing Marawi city’s geography, bringing change to people’s attitudes, eradicating the menace of drugs and corruption that infected the Maranaws to the core - curses that no one thought will ever cease.

The siege although it was very expensive in terms of the military casualties in the side of the government – it boosted DU30’s international stature coming to an end by the time the ASEAN leaders and the world’s superpowers converged in Manila. Lucky, you, Mr. President. Even USA praised the AFP for the handling of the war against the ISIS in Marawi.

Like it or not, the AFP was a big winner in the Marawi siege. To kill 700 terrorists in a scenario of jungle warfare will take decades. We saw it in the Mindanao rebellion that began in the 70s and nobody wins.

…but this is the good one for the last!

The Marawi siege overshadowed the DU30’s war on drugs. The government’s critics were left without an audience. They were left talking to each other’s and if there were killings; it was overshadowed by the horrific war in Marawi. Even the Bishop’s sponsored prayer rally flopped with maybe few thousands attending not the millions reminiscent of the People’s power led by the late Cardinal Sin.

DU30 IS A LUCKY MARANAW PRESIDENT…!

MY WISH MY DREAM FOR MARAWI

GOD WORKS IN MYSTERIOUS WAYS!

It is no longer maybe; now is the time to build our dreams. If we can’t change our ways; Allah will change it in a way that is beyond our comprehension. Before the siege, not many Filipinos know where Marawi City is. It is now in the world map and most, if not all Filipinos of right age know where it is.

My routine after getting out of bed at 9 in the morning (My work begins at 12 pm) is watch “Early Edition” recorded in my TFC.tv while eating light breakfast. It flashed a portion of “Headstart” where the guest is Duterte’s anointed czar for the rebuilding of Marawi. I changed channel immediately.

Quotes:

“Ramon Ang of San Miguel will build/donate 2,500 houses.”

“We will build dry and wet market at the destroyed commercial center”

“Those whose houses were destroyed but were squatting on government lands will receive 210,000 pesos.”

“The government will spend 5 billion in 2017 and 10 billion in 2018 while more expenditures will be determined later”

“We will build more roads. The 2 lanes roads will be rebuilt as 4 lanes. We will build parks at both sides of the river where squatters used to live.”

“We have plans to preserve at least 3 places of the destroyed city as a constant reminder that it should never happen again in Marawi or anywhere else in the country.”

“MARAWI CITY will be a Mindanao tourist destination.”

…my wish my dream for Marawi is taking shape!

Marawi City and Iligan City are so close to each other’s (37 km without traffic) that people of Marawi drives down to Ilagan City to buy fish, buy meds at Mercury drug, watch movies, sips coffee at Dunken Doughnut and treat the children at Jollibee. Iligan is Marawi’s shopping center.

If security can be totally eradicated as a threat and if the plans for Marawi becomes a reality; the trend can be reversed.

People of Iligan will drive 20-30 minutes to the highlander city if only to enjoy the cool weather, sip coffee overlooking Lake Lanao, walk in the park along the river that runs down to Iligan’s famous Maria Christina Falls. Take a boat ride around the lake for hours of utmost natural wonder. On weekends, people of Iligan can drive to Marawi and play tennis or Golf at the Mindanao State University or jog/walk in the Campus with an overlook view of the City and the Lake.

…or the people of Iligan can simply take the short ride to Marawi if only to listen to the sounds of the rain or get lost in the fog.

…better believe it!

This is another dream that has always been in the back of my mind long before the Marawi siege. Imagine creating a canal several meters wide from the lake to the foothill of the Mindanao State University traversing 2-3 km of farmlands. You build the entire area into a beautiful canal city…! MSU gets a direct access to the lake.

WOW! Did I just solve the mysteries of ancient Egypt?

Staggering prophetic symbolism…note the uniformity of the obvious cell-phones but the depicted pictures inside are different compared to the rest of the look-alike engravings on the wall telling us without ambiguities what they are – smart phones!

Obviously, most of the Egyptian monuments and writings on the walls were created by a 3D printing machine. I was virtually laughing when I realize this. Notice the repetitive look alike monuments as if they were clones of each other’s perfectly and smoothly? No human hands regardless of how good one is specially with crude tools can accomplish this. It is simply impossible.

Is it possible, even the pyramids were 3D printed and why not...it's a technology that is no longer fiction. We are building houses, cars and bridges with 3D printers. Human space travelers of the future will bring with them only 3D printers to produce what they need on the spot wherever they may find themselves. Did alien Space/Time travelers bring with them advanced 3D printers and printed all these things as future predictor of what humans will eventually achieve? What were those smart phones, satellites, drones, helicopters and flying cars doing on the walls of ancient Egypt?

Many now believe that the sphinx and the pyramids were built by Earthlings with far advanced civilization that became extinct meaning it predates the modern peopling of Egypt. DNA testing of ancient Egyptian mummies bears no resemblance to present Egyptians. When people settled Egypt, they ignored the pyramids and the sphinx in the same way that they ignored the moon and the stars, the mountains and the seas. It has always been there for as long as anyone can remember. Nobody knows who built them.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

You can go to walmart and order a 3D print of yourself while you wait - wow!

WERE THEY GENTLE TERRORISTS OR REBELS WITHOUT A CAUSE?

What in heaven’s name was that Marawi siege?

Were the Maute brothers the new version of gentle terrorists or were they rebels without a cause? If the AFP is correct; more than 700 terrorists were dead and for what? I am still puzzling over what was their goal. Prewar videos were shown planning to take over the city but it didn’t show what was their aim. Were they paid to simply destroy the city? Why was Hapilon alone? Where are his Tausug fighters from the famed Abu Sayyaf terror group? Are the Abu Sayyaf bandits decimated that forced Hapilon to seek refuge in Marawi?

Long before the Marawi siege; the government was already engaged in an all-out war in Sulu and Basilan against the Abu Sayyaf. Is the government finally winning over terror and other lawless elements? Will the NPA next to go extinct?

I am left scratching my head wondering why they did what they did. If their goal was parallel with the Middle East ISIS; they did everything wrong from the start meaning they were not being properly coached. They burned Dansalan College, the catholic church and other places that forewarned people to run. If their goal was to declare Marawi City an Islamic State, allowing people to leave was a great mistake. How can you declare a city without people a State? They should have taken the entire city’s population a hostage. They should have mined and blockaded all the bridges and isolated the main city from across the river. If needed, they should have blown up the bridges. With people still in the city; the government would have rendered air support useless and the war would have dragged on for years not months.

As Marawians, let’s take comfort in the knowledge that it could have been far worst. Destroyed buildings can be rebuilt and the government is doing everything it can to do just that. Maybe it is just Allah’s mysterious way of doing better things. Nothing in the world is free. There is always something to pay for something better in return.

The terrorists probably expected the Maranaws to rally behind them but when the people started running and the terror group let them, their cause whatever it was, was lost. They should have realized that they couldn’t fight the AFP bullet for bullet sniper for sniper because the government has endless supply of men and firepower. Resistance was futile. They should have abandoned the city in the early days and return to their lairs in the mountains of Butig to fight another day. What a waste and all for nothing…!
