I think Obama has placed himself in a very embarrassing situation by getting embroiled in a very unpopular war at a time when Americans are not only weary of war; it is yet to unwind the most protracted war it has ever fought, not to mention being bankrupted by decades of war. He made pronouncements that he cannot undo, like promising to bomb Syria on a limited scale as if it’s a piece of cake, but no war is a walk in the park. You can never foretell how your enemies will respond to aggression, as if Iraq and Afghanistan did not teach the USA a lesson.
