THE DARANGEN: Abduction of Princess Lawanen

The news of an impending invasion spread throughout the kingdom of Kadaraan. The people were jittery. The territorial guards were doubled.

          Mindalano sa Tonong, the king of Kadaraan, was rightly informed that the land of the blooming flowers, the kingdom of Minalang, is teeming with people in arms. The harbor is filled with anchored ships from Bembaran in pursuit of the lost princess. The rumor is that the invasion will begin as soon as the Rinayong, the flagship of Bembaran, sails into the bay of the flower kingdom.

          Mabaning trotted in haste as if gulping the hills of Sendigan with ease. In his desire to reach Sagorongan a Ragat, he stopped every gypsy he met along the way asking how far more is he from his destination.

          He crossed over an arm of the sea, roofed with a land bridge that leads to a highway. When he reached the other side, he climbed the top of a sloping trail. Alas! Spread before him was Sagorongan, a Ragat. It is shrouded in smog. The center of habitation is lighted by a brilliant glow like a mirror’s reflected flash of lightning. It radiates with contrasting rays of various hues, casting upon the sea a gleaming display of beautiful colors like an unfolding rainbow.

          The complex network of roads was impossible to trace. The bay is crowded with a countless number of merchant ships, convincing Mabaning of the obvious prosperity the kingdom of Kadaraan is blessed with.

          “The crowded city overshadowed almost everything in the land of Gibonen,” he thought, “except the beautiful architectural layout of Bembaran and the comfort of its spacious land.”

          He deviated from the trail and followed a course along the sun-drenched coast.

          “Behold! How handsomely that Madem walks,” admired the sea gypsies along his tracks.

          “I am going to blow up my cover,” he thought. “I must alter my style of walking and act exactly like the mountain-man of Kilaten. I must convince people, I am a genuine Madem.

          Shuffling his gait, Mabaning hobbled lamely swaying and lurching forward leaping over dried pools. He reached the lagoon and walked around the gulf following the seashore. He saw the stern of a ship sunk in the sea. It is obvious; most if not all aboard the ship must have perished.

          “Behold!” said Mabaning, “how it resembles the likeness of Kalipapa Da’ayaw. If my brother Mapendara sa Delim sailed this far then this sunken ship must be my ship.”

          “Excuse me my friends,” said Mabaning addressing a pair of sea gypsies. “May I know if any of you have knowledge of that sunken ship?” he asked, pointing towards the sea. “Could it be possible that an attacking ship has besieged Sagorongan-a-Ragat, and King Dimasangkay did not even care to inform us?”

          “Yes,” answered by one the gypsies. “It is the ship sailed by Mapendara sa Delim, the prince of Gadongan. It sailed into the bay only yesterday while the sun was still above the mountains of Kadaraan. A courier was dispatched by Makarondaw sa Kadeg to investigate the origin of the ship and to find out the purpose of their sailing into the imperial waters of Kadaraan. However, the alien ship unleashed a barrage of cannon fire, sinking the courier ship instantly. Makarondaw sa Kadeg retaliated with a formidable firepower from land and from the warships guarding the harbors of Kadaan. The Kalipapa Daayaw fought back courageously, sinking ten of the coast guard's ships and setting the city on fire. Many people perished aboard the ships that were sunk. The smoldering ruins of the burned houses blemished the beautiful city of Sagorongan a Ragat. Although aided by the spirit guardians of Bembaran; the Kalipapa Da’ayaw could not surmount overwhelming odds. They fought valiantly but the enemy was simply countless in number.

Learning of the demise of his ship, his brother, and men, he walked off in despair, doubling his grief.

          “Do not think of the dead,” he reasoned with himself, ‘lest you endanger yourself too.” He accelerated his pace. “Wait for my vengeance, you who speaks the alien barbarian’s tongue. I swear I will drown you all; you lost people of the sea. You shall pay and pay dearly for maltreating the kingdom of Bembaran.”

Regardless of what the Christian world believes in, Jesus was alive, not dead, when he was brought up to heaven.

            First, He did not stay long on the cross to die. The Sabbath mandated that they should bring him down before sunset, meaning Jesus was hanged on the cross for only a few hours. (It takes at least 48-72 hours for anyone hanging on the cross to die. I said 'hanging' because they do not nail people to a cross. If they did, they had to tie it as well, either to the hands/feet, or body, to keep it on the cross. Unless a man’s body is made of wood, nails will not hold a body on the cross for long. The flesh is soft; it will tear, and your bones will break if they nail it through…common sense.

            Second, the centurion did not break his legs.

            Third: Red blood (according to every version of the Bible) oozed from his wound when the centurion poked at his side, meaning he was alive.

            Fourth: When Mary Magdala came early Sunday morning to anoint Jesus's living body (Jews don’t anoint a dead body long after it is buried, meaning she knew Jesus was alive), Jesus was not there. Jesus might have left soon after he entered the chamber/tomb (he was not buried underground).

            One thing I found really laughable was the purported presence of the angels. Mary Magdalene spoke to them as if angels were a natural presence at the time. There were no surprises…no fear as if she were talking to ordinary mortals; it was an evident interpolation. Writers of the Bible were not good fiction writers…were they?

            There are just 36 hours between Friday night and Sunday morning, assuming Jesus left the tomb seconds before Mary of Magdala arrived. However, as Christians believe, it could never have been three days and three nights. I'll never understand why this very important time factor has been ignored by the Christian World for millennia.

            Jesus was well enough to joke with Mary when he appeared to her, clothed in a gardener’s outfit, on Sunday morning. Mary Magdalene was not the first to see Jesus after he left the tomb. Suppose the disciples were terrified when Jesus appeared to them in the upper chamber in Luke 24:36. In that case, one can only imagine how frightened the gardener and/or his family would have been when Jesus came knocking in the middle of the night, all bundled up like a mummy in his burial shroud. Whoever gave him or lent him the gardener’s clothes he was wearing must have offered him food and a warm bed for the night as well. Obviously, God did not abandon Jesus in the hour of his need, which aligns more closely with God's divine nature. I am no god, but shall my son need my help…I will give it without ever having to ask.

            Luke 24:36 reads: ‘While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them. 'Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds? Look at my hand and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones as you see I have.”

            When he said this, he showed them his hands and feet. And when they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?” They gave him a piece of broiled fish, which he took and ate in their presence.

            If this is not proof enough from the very mouth of Jesus that He was alive, then nothing can convince the Christian world, not even the Second Coming. The real miracle of the crucifixion was Jesus's having survived it. Had he died on the cross, there would have been no miracle at all. If his alleged resurrection after less than 36 hours of his alleged death was a miracle, the resurrection of Lazarus was a greater miracle.

            The Qur’an in 4:157 – 158 says, “That they said (in boast), we killed Jesus Christ, the son of Mary, the apostle of Allah, but they killed him not nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts with no certain knowledge but only conjecture to follow for a surety, they killed him not. Nay Allah raised him unto Himself; Allah is exalted in Power, Wise.”

            I hope I have proven at this point in time that Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Muhammad, and all the great prophets of God (may peace and blessings of Allah be upon them all) were taken up to heaven at one time, either at the place in time of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) or to another place in time shared or not to any of the prophets. All the prophets of God were sent back to their respective places in time to complete each of their missions for God, except one: Jesus.

            For a long time, I have been asking my Christian friends to give one good reason why Jesus would come back a second time. There are Muslims, likewise, who believe that Jesus is coming back, but such belief is not one of the Muslim’s articles of faith. The second coming has no real significance to Islam except that Jesus is expected to put an end to the ‘Ad-Dajjal,’ a false prophet who, by working wonders and miracles, will mislead many Muslims. Jesus promised his disciples that he would return, in fact, in their lifetime; “some of you who are here will not taste death before the coming of the kingdom of heaven.’

            Qur’an 5:116 reads: And behold Allah will say, “O’ Jesus, the son of Mary! Didst thou say unto men, take me and my mother for two gods beside Allah?” He will say: “Glory to Thee! Never could I say what I had no right to say. Had I said such a thing, thou wouldst indeed have known it. Thou knowest what is in my heart; thou knowest not what is in thine. For thou knowest in full that is hidden.” Qur’an 5:117 further says, “Never said I to them aught except what thou didst command me to say, to wit, ‘worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.’ And I was a witness over them whilst I dwelt amongst them; when didst thou take me up? Thou wast the watcher over them, and thou art a witness to all things.” Qur’an 5:118 – “If thou dost punish them, they are thy servant: if thou dost forgive them, thou art the exalted in power, the wise.”

            All the prophets of God returned to their respective places in time except Jesus. He must have known he was coming back from heaven, but probably did not expect to be sent to a place so far away from his own—the second coming.

            In one hadith, the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) foretold that Jesus, at his second coming, would break the cross and destroy the false prophet, the ‘Dajjal.’

Jesus has two critical missions in the Second Coming. He will destroy the ‘Ad-Dajjal’(false prophet) and disentangle the mess of divine myth that some people created around him and around themselves; he will break the cross.

I wonder why, for centuries, highly qualified people have been interpreting the prophecies of Nostradamus, and no one has recognized the quatrain that refers to Jesus’ second coming. I don’t think they did; they missed it deliberately. Christians found it impossible to accept, even at the peril of their own souls, that Jesus in the second coming could be a Muslim. No Christian even dares to hint that this quatrain could be referring to the second coming, although it is crystal clear, as clear as the sunrise in summer.

I have asked a few of my Christian friends the most intriguing question of all time, and the answer is always the same: an outright (without a second thought) No!

What if someone great were to come one day and claim to be Jesus Christ? He has come back as promised. He could be telling the truth by any measure except what Christians will see as a major flaw: He is a Muslim. Will Christians accept him?

Nostradamus X,75 – “The long-awaited one will never come into Europe; instead, he will appear in Asia. One issue from the great league of Hermes [Greek god of negotiations]. He will dominate over all the rulers of the Orient.”

Can any honest Christian deny beyond any shadow of a doubt that the above prophecy refers to the second coming?

He will unite the Muslims of Asia and Africa according to the Nostradamus prophecies and invade Europe…and for what? This is the primary reason why Christians interpret this quatrain as referring to the ANTI-CHRIST. I agree…

Matthew 7:21 – “Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven. Many will say to me on that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name and in thy name cast out devils; and in thy name done wonderful works: and then will I profess unto them; I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquities.”

Believe it or not, Jesus Christ is Jesus the Anti-Christ in another place in time. He will break the cross…

One of the Qur’an’s most popular stories is the cave sleepers' story in chapter 18. A group of youths was being persecuted for their monotheistic belief. They hid inside a small cave with their dog sitting right at the mouth of the cave. When they woke up, one of them went to town surreptitiously to buy food, only to discover that everything had changed. They had slept for 309 years. Although it is not impossible for God to make them sleep that long and their dog to sit equally in the same period, it is illogical for them not to have aged. Obviously, they were transported in time 309 lunar years into the future.

Qur’an 18:18; “If you have seen the youth’s transformation inside the cave, you would have been terrified and run.” I believe that this verse refers to that moment in time when they were sucked into a time tunnel (wormholes). Although they did not end up in another galaxy or another worldly dimension…they ended up in another place in time, 309 lunar years into their future.

            Another is the parable of a traveler who passed by a ruined city and wondered if God could ever restore the town to its former glory.

Qur’an 2:259: “But Allah caused him to die a hundred years and then raised him up again. He said: “How long did thou tarry?” Thus, he said: “Perhaps a day or part of a day.” He said:” Nay, thou hast tarried thus a hundred years. But look at thy food and thy drink; they showed no signs of age, and look at thy donkey: and that we make of thee a sign unto the people.”

            God’s sense of humor is evident in His countless creations, but for a donkey to stand one hundred years and a dog to sit for 309 years was no joke. I don’t believe God was trying to be funny. He was trying to impart a message: ‘And that we make of thee a sign unto the people.’ There is no doubt that men and beasts were transported in time.

            John 8:56 – Your forefather Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day; he saw it and was glad. ‘You are not fifty years old,’ the Jews said to him, ‘and you have seen Abraham!’ “I tell you the truth,” Jesus answered, “before he was born, I am!”

            How could Abraham see Jesus’ day if he had not time-traveled to Jesus’ place in time? Likewise, how could Jesus have been before Abraham was born if he had not traveled to a place before Abraham was born? This could be the answer to the missing chapter in the life of Jesus. It is known that Jesus disappeared at the age of 12, and when he reappeared at the age of 30, he healed the blind and the lepers, walked on water, still the storm, and brought back the dead, but when the real test came, he prayed to be free of the mission. Some say he was in Egypt. Others insist he was in India, where traces of him and his teachings are found, according to some researchers. Still, some say he joined the Essenes, a Jewish religious organization most probably dedicated to the worship of God. I like to think that he traveled extensively in time and space, or even to the heavens, to learn the wisdom of the prophets. He could have traveled to the mentioned place for some time. He was in Egypt and India. He could have been to many other places.

            Moses climbed the mountain in Sinai on several occasions. The first was when God commanded him to return to Egypt and deliver the people of Israel. Another was when he received the Ten Commandments and the Laws.

            Exodus 19:3; ‘…then Moses went up to God, and the Lord called up to him from the mountain and said; this is what you are to tell the people of Israel. You yourself have seen what I did to Egypt and how I carried you on Eagle’s wings and brought you up to myself.’

            These Eagle’s wings are another version of the Burak that carried the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) from Mecca to Jerusalem, a different version of the chariot of fire that brought Elijah to the heavens.

Exodus 20:22; “Tell the Israelites this: you have seen for yourself that I have spoken to you from heaven…” (Note: not on Mount Sinai)

 The above Biblical verses are pretty straightforward. Moses was taken up to heaven every time on an Eagle’s wings. Moses brought the tablets where the Ten Commandments were inscribed from Heaven.  The tablets were so powerful that the earth cracked and swallowed up the people when Moses smashed them in their midst for reverting to idolatry. It was no ordinary tablet of rock.

Verse 7:143 of the Qur’an states, ‘When Moses came to the place appointed by us, and His Lord addressed him, He said: “O my Lord! Show thyself to me that I may look upon thee.” Allah said: “By no means canst thou see me directly but look upon the mount; if it abides in its place, then shall thou see me.” When the Lord manifested Himself on the mount, He made it a pillar of dust, and Moses fell down in a swoon. When he recovered his senses, he said: ‘Glory be to thee! To thee! I turn in repentance, and I am the first to believe.’ God may have time-transported Moses when he lost his consciousness.

            When I realized that time travel is a common form of travel in Islam, I had no idea that Jesus, of all the prophets of God, would be the one to provide the burden of proof. He and John the Baptist, being contemporaries, pointed to each other as the prophet Elijah.

            Luke 7:20 – ‘When the men came to Jesus, they said, “John the Baptist sent us to ask, are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?” To this, Jesus had no answer. He continued doing what he was doing and instructed the messengers to inform John of what they had seen. It was as vague as it could ever be.

            Jesus’ transfiguration in the New Testament is probably one of the most concrete proofs of how the prophets of God moved from one place in time to another.

            Matthew 17:1; ‘…after 6 days (eight days in Luke 7:25), Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John, the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. There, he was transformed before them; his face was shown like a sun, and his clothes became as white as the light. Just then, there appeared before him Moses and Elijah talking with Jesus.’

Anyone not blinded by their faith will realize, upon closer examination, that there was no transfiguration. The disciples were sleeping at the time Jesus was praying. They were awakened by a very bright light, with Jesus between the light and the disciples. The bright light made Jesus appear disfigured, and from it, Moses and Elijah appeared. None of the prophets was transfigured or spiritualized, or else the disciples would not have offered to build a shelter for each of them (prophets) to sleep or to rest for the night.

            Matthew 17:4; ‘…when they climbed down from the mountain, the disciples asked Jesus, “Why then do the teachers of the law say Elijah must come first?” Jesus replied, “To be sure, Elijah has already come and restored all things. But I tell you, Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him but have done to him everything they wished. In the same way, the son of man is going to suffer in their hands.” Then the disciples understood that he was talking to them about John the Baptist.’

            One: John the Baptist is not Elijah. He vehemently denied it. John 1:19 – “I am not the Christ.” They asked him, “Then who are you? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not. “Are you the prophet?” He answered, “No.”

Second, the disciples knew John the Baptist. They would have recognized him if he were Elijah (during that encounter).

            The late and formerly Reverend David Benjamin Keldani, B.D., a Roman Catholic priest of the Uniate  Chaldean sect, wrote in the late and early twentieth century that the least (youngest) in the Kingdom of Heaven foretold by Jesus and John the Baptist in Luke 9:27 was no other that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh): “I tell you, among those born of women, there is no one greater than John; yet the one who is least (youngest) in the Kingdom of God is greater than he.” If the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was the great prophet who was to come and whose shoelace John the Baptist claimed he was not worthy to untie, the prophecy is fulfilled except for the coming of Prophet Elijah.

            The puzzle I cannot comprehend in the above Biblical verses is Elijah. Who is he? Is he another prophet the Jews were expecting to come, or was he the same prophet Elijah during King Ahab's reign hundreds of years before Christ? Did he promise to come back before the chariot of fire took him to heaven, or was it a standard rule for any prophet taken up to heaven physically and alive to return to earth and die a natural death?

            2 Kings 2:11 of the Bible says, “As they were walking and talking together, suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind. Elisha saw this and cried out, “My father! My father! The chariots and horses of Israel!” and Elisha saw him no more.

            Regardless of what the Christian world believes in, Jesus was alive, not dead, when he was brought up to heaven.

Mabaning thanked his new gypsy friends and entered the forest. He searched for settlements where he could pick up some important clues. He roamed the villages spying for their secrets, but all was in vain until he came upon a mountain.

Exhausted after days of wandering, he stopped at the foot of the mountain. He walked to a tree looming ghostly in the night, lowered himself to the ground, and leaned his back against the tree. Feeling completely relaxed, he soon fell soundly asleep, oblivious to the breaking dawn and the rising sun.

The charming Anonen Pangadapen stood by a tree. Her thoughts were preoccupied by the piteous state of the prince of Gadongan.

“What if I disguise myself,” the fairy princess thought, “as Princess Lawanen to divert his mind? I will keep his thoughts away from the tragic loss of his fiancée. If he perseveres in his passionate desire for the princess beyond compare, then I shall reveal to him the truth that Princess Lawanen is being held at Sagorongan, a Ragat. I will divulge everything that happened to the love of his life.”

The fairy princess glided across the hills to where the prince of Gadongan was resting. Standing there for some time, she watched the sleeping prince. She bent and touched the prince on the shoulder.

“Mabaning Ndaw Rogong,” the fairy princess whispered. “Wake up and refresh yourself with betel nuts from the hills of Sendigan. I know you are tired, sad, and grieving.”

Startled, Mabaning stirred awake, confused by the gentle voice whose likeness to the lost princess rekindled his grief. He pulled the scarf tucked at his side and wiped off the beads of perspiration over his face. He eyed the strange lady with scrutiny, unable to tell whether she was the lost princess or not. The likeness is almost perfect except for the color of the hair.

“The hair of princess Lawanen,” he thought, “is a sparkling brunette while this beautiful princess, if you may, is a blonde like the petals of a white flower that curls up with the thunders.”

“My dear princess,” uttered the confused prince. “Who are you and what are you doing in these mountains?”

“I am your kin, the princess Anonen Pangadapen of Sendigan Mountains. I know how you deeply mourn the loss of Princess Lawanen, but I didn’t expect to find you in such a miserable condition.” The fairy looked piteously at the prince. “Lawanen is in Sagorongan, a Ragat abducted by the spirits of King Dimasangkay,” reiterated the princess. “I beg you not to pursue her. Remember, even if you are an invincible crock or as hard as granite rock, you will not be able to confront the territorial guards of the empire of Kadaraan. You will be a great loss to the offspring of Gebonen. It would be best if you turn back and return to Bembaran. Organize an army of the allied kingdoms big and strong enough to invade the land of Doronan.”

“My princess Anonen,” answered Mabaning. “It is impossible to turn back now. How can I tell the people of Bembaran that I discovered where Lawanen is being held, and I have returned to Bembaran without even seeing her? No, I prefer to find the princess Lawanen and talk to her. I will have no regret even if I perish in the attempt. I am entrusting to you my well-being from this moment on. You must inform the others in Bembaran of what you just told me so they can come immediately to our rescue. I must leave now and find Sagorongan a Ragat. I must not fail.”

“Prince Mabaning,” addressed the fairy princess. “If that is your wish, then be it, but take my advice. Disguise yourself as a Madem so the sentries will not recognize you. Pretend to be the messenger of the king of Kilaten, but if you are recognized by the territorial guards, use the magic sword.”

A sword suddenly materialized in the hands of the fairy. “It will spite your enemies and blind their vision. If you find yourself in real danger; raise the sword up and spin around until the tussle fibers at the hilt spread and radiates with light. It will instantly render you invisible.

Prince Mabaning reached for the sword, offering a prayer to the ‘Dragon god’ in the sky.

He wound the belt around his waist and fixed the scabbard on his left, the sword dangling on his side. Spinning around, the tussle fibers at the hilt sprang, scattering light rays like a twinkling star's droplets. He bade farewell to the fairy princess and left in a hurry.

The angel Gabriel took the prophet Muhammad (pbuh) from the house where he slept that night to the Kaaba, the ‘Bait Allah’ in the valley of Mecca. Some say the prophet went to the Kaaba late at night and slept there. The angel Gabriel woke him up and mounted him on the back of the Burak, a horse-like creature that resembled a hybrid of a mule and an ass. It was winged and pure white in color. Arab artists later painted it with a human female head, a half-beast, half-human creature. Each stride was as far as the eyes could see, so the story goes. They traveled from the Kaaba in the valley of Mecca to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. God’s great prophets – Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus – were already there waiting. They prayed on the Temple Mount with the Prophet Muhammad leading the prayer.

            The angel brought two vessels before the prophet to drink. The prophet took the vessel containing milk and left the other with wine. “Thou hast been guided,” the angel said, “and wine is forbidden to you.” They then each left for heaven, where the other prophets of God were present.

            Many Muslim writers of late have fallen prey to the same revisionists of the Bible. Similarly, they, too, are playing with fire. Muslim scholars who cannot comprehend how the Prophet could travel to Jerusalem, heaven, and back in just a tiny fraction of the night are now saying that the Prophet’s travel was a mystical, spiritual journey akin to a dream. If it were a dream or a spiritual journey, the early Muslims would not have been worried when the Prophet told the unbelievers of his night journey. Even Abu Bakr, one of Muhammad's closest friends and who later became the first caliph of Islam after the Prophet’s death, could not believe it when he was told that the Prophet was in the Kaaba speaking to the unbelievers about his night journey. But he said, “If the prophet claimed he did, I believe him.” Many Muslims of today have become the unbelievers of the Prophet’s time.

            Let us be very clear about this. The prophet claimed he traveled with his body, and he never referred to the other prophets as being in spirit. Like him, they were in heaven, body and soul.

            The Arab artists who painted the “Burak” as half-beast, half-human creatures may even have been accurate. The Sphinx monument in Egypt remains a mystery to this day. It is very possible that the monument's creators saw beings from another galaxy or another time.

            Strangers are still Nostradamus’s prophecy—Quatrain I.64. Interpreters of the Nostradamus prophecies consider the quatrain to be fiction, which I find unfair and absurd. Nostradamus is never known to have been a fiction writer. How can anyone claim the prophecies genuine except Quatrain I.64 simply because it defies the comprehension of the limited mindset?

            Quatrain I.64: “Many will think they have seen the sun at night. They will also see deformed men, half-animal, half-human. Noise, sounds, battle, and fighting in the sky will be seen, and one will hear strange beasts talking.” Can anyone absolutely and honestly say that this prophecy does not refer to other beings from another world or another time? If the only barrier between now and anywhere else in time is the speed of light, then I must say beyond any shadow of doubt that the Burak was not only an intergalactic being who traveled the fringes of the universe but must also be an inter-time creature who transcended the borders of time.

            We live in a world where fiction and reality become indistinguishable. “The Boys from Brazil” and the “Island of DR. Moreau” are no longer fiction. We first cloned beans, fruits, and vegetables, then came “Dolly,” the sheep, cows, monkeys, and mice. What next: half-animal, half-human creatures, winged horses and men, flying zebras, dogs and cats. Have no doubt about it – the technology with the right equipment is theoretically so simple that it is child’s play. Parents may, in the future, clone cute-looking pets that do not exist today for their children. Foods genetically engineered with human and animal genes are becoming an increasingly common part of our daily diet. What does it make of us cannibals? It seems that man cannot be satisfied playing second fiddle to God.

            We even know for sure that spacemen are out there. It is only a matter of time.

            Time Travel is a fiction that is well-suited for movies, but will we ever achieve it? Believe it or not, we were already there.

            The Prophet’s Night Journey (Miraj), which Walter Roger of CNN enthusiastically described on TV as Muhammad’s Flight to the Heavens, is a true story of Time Travel.

            The most astounding aspect of the prophet’s night journey was the presence of the other prophets. Muslim scholars ignore this puzzle because there is no readily acceptable answer if non-Muslims ask. It is hard to imagine that God had resurrected Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus, who are supposedly long dead and buried, so they could pray with the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in Jerusalem. Their presence, if one gets a closer look, was not essential to the prophet’s mission or his journey to the heavens, meaning their presence has nothing to do with the prophet’s own journey. Like him, they were alive and well (not dead), and they were there either for their own or God’s reason. They obviously time-traveled to the prophet’s place so they could travel together to heaven. In heaven, he was greeted by the other prophets: Adam, John the Baptist, Enoch, Joseph, and many others. Prophet Daniel saw this event in a vision. The chances are, he too was there (Daniel 7:12). Similarly, Paul was there as well in 2 Corinthians 12.

            The angel brought the Prophet Muhammad alone to the seven spheres of heaven and hell. I like to believe that they time-traveled to a place after Judgment Day because, in the ensuing years following the ‘Miraj,’ the Prophet revealed in bits and pieces the names of people he recognized in heaven and hell.

            I like the scene where the Prophet Moses (pbuh) sent the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) several times to the highest heaven to bargain with God to reduce the daily number of prayers.

            The initial number of prayers was 50, but it was later reduced to only five. Prophet Moses encouraged him to go again, but he was ashamed to bargain for more, so he accepted the five daily prayers for his ‘ummah.’ The prophet Moses warned him that the five daily prayers would be as difficult for his ‘ummah’ as it was for him.

            From heaven, the angel brought him back to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem and to Mecca. It is believed that in addition to the Holy Qur’an as a point of reference, the Prophet’s 23-year ministry was also based on knowledge he received during the Miraj (Night Journey).

The early converts to Islam begged the Prophet to keep the journey secret until the right time. They were afraid that the unbelievers would have something to mock and use against them. A one-way trip to Syria takes a month; how could he convince the unbelievers that he did a round trip in just a fraction of the night, not to mention his journey to heaven? He was in a dilemma, but presented proof by revealing the number of caravans he saw between Mecca and Syria. Still unconvinced, the unbelievers quizzed him on the physical appearance of Jerusalem, a place he had never been to before his night journey. His answers were all accurate. Three days later, a caravan testified that the prophet had come upon their camp three nights earlier to tell them where to find one of their camels that had wandered into the desert. They thought the prophet was naturally traveling alone at night when he chanced upon their camp.

            There is no doubt that the Prophet traveled either back or forward in time to a place where he met all the other prophets of God, coming from their own respective places in time. They were summoned to a commonplace time when they each received a mission from God.
