Lie-beer-man, Israel’s drunken master foreign minister, on December 25, tells Israel’s European war dogs to cease talking and stop Iran and Jerusalem of all places. I wish Christian Europe would stop turning a blind eye and cease denying that Jews are rabid Jesus haters, maintaining to this day that Jesus was a bastard son of Mary and that the Jews crucified him for blasphemy.

Israel: EU paying lip service over Iran

Israel's Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman believes that Europe's support for the Tel Aviv regime is mere lip service, as Europe is not doing anything to prove it is working to stop Iran's drive for nuclear energy.

Addressing Israeli diplomats in al-Quds (Jerusalem) on Sunday, Lieberman called on Europe to take immediate and “courageous decisions” on Iran, Reuters reported. 

"Unfortunately, my impression is that some of the nations of Europe and senior figures there speak about sanctions more in order to calm Israel than to stop Iran's nuclear program," he argued. 

Earlier this month, Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak urged Europe to impose crippling sanctions on Iran, saying it was "time for urgent, coherent, paralyzing" steps targeting Tehran's oil trade and central bank.

Tihamaland is the Saudi Arabia that is little known to the world, unfamiliar even to most of its citizens.

My town of Dhahran Al Janoub (Dhahran South) lies near the other end of the mountain range that runs along the southwestern Arabian Peninsula, from Taif, looming over Jeddah and Mecca, to the Najran plains. Along this range are breathtaking panoramas of upland towns and cities, most famous of which is Taif, because it is where the Prophet Mohammad (p.b.u.h.) was stoned by pagans in the early days of ISLAM. Some of the high-altitude cities, towns, and villages are 3,000 feet above sea level, blessed with a dry and temperate climate. It is indicated in some maps of Saudi Arabia as Tihamaland inhabited by a tribe with customs and traditions unique to the Middle East. They dress very differently as well. Time yonder, adventurers called these mountains Arabia Felix, a name that partly belongs to Yemen.

            Internet sources are very frustrating. Pictures are mislabeled in some books by foreigners about this region; the names of towns and villages are interchanged. Most of the books written about this region are picturesque in nature, like “Flowered Men,” so titled because men of Tihamaland wear crowns of woven ornaments, leaves, flowers, and whatever they fancy over their heads. A man once knocked at our village clinic, asking for a roll of cotton. His wife allegedly delivered at home only to find parts of the cotton mounted on his head the following day. Even synthetic flowers mysteriously vanished from our vases, only to see them tucked over their heads. “The Undiscovered Assir” is the book that I bought and treasure with care because it covered most of “Tihama Qahtan” where I spent the better half of my whole existence. Most of the tribal men whose pictures appeared in the book are people I knew, and although the names of villages were mislabeled, some of the photos are superb.

            I used to drive precariously for four to six hours through one of Earth’s most rugged mountainous terrains to reach the heartland of Tihama Qahtan, named after the first settler of these mountains. It is known that one of the first to embrace Islam in the time of the Prophet was a Qahtan. The Tihama flatland, which runs along the foothills not far from the Red Sea coastal plains, is known as Tihama Assiri, so named after the patriarch of its early settlers, Tihama Qahtan.

            One hundred kilometers east of Dhahran Janoub is the city of Najran, the lowland at the end of the mountain range and at the edge of the Empty Quarter. When it rains in the mountains, rampaging torrents cascade down the hills, negotiating their way through valleys and flooding the Najran plains. It is probably one of the oldest settlements in the Arabian Peninsula, which was once a Judeo-Christian City before the advent of Islam. It is of biblical importance as well as being along the path and an alleged favorite stopover of Yemen’s Queen of Sheba on her way to Solomon’s kingdom. It is the town where, according to some historians, whole families leaped into deep wells rather than convert to Islam. Other historians, however, claimed that the mass suicide happened long before Islam arrived on the scene. There was a conflict between the Jews and the Christians that, for whatever mysterious reason, prompted the Christians to commit mass suicides. I am more inclined to believe the latter because Muslims are never known to have forced Jews and Christians to convert to Islam, whom the Qur’an referred to with respect as the people of the book.

Tears of joy in the midst of doomsday for the victims wrought upon by Typhoon Sendong. It is a miracle that children were separately rescued  from the sea clinging on to logs, debris and two of them hanging on to an interior. What a lovely sight in the midst of lamentation for the dead and the missing. I am sure; the media after this broadcast will seek them out for their miraculous tales of survival.

US Alone as Israel Condemned in UN Security Council | Common Dreams:

NEW YORK - Fourteen frustrated members of the UN Security Council pointed a finger at the US yesterday for blocking any condemnation of Israel's accelerated settlement construction in Palestinian territory.

Mr Churkin, the council president, said the frustration over the impasse in Israeli-Palestinian talks spilled out in statements from the four European Union council members, the Non-Aligned Movement, the Arab group and the group of emerging powers that included India, Brazil and South Africa.

Clearly referring to the US, Mr Churkin said dismissively that one delegation believed things would miraculously sort themselves out on their own. "The call for bilateral negotiations without preconditions would seem a normal thing to ask for," he said.

But Mr Churkin said the Palestinians were overwhelmed militarily and in every other way by the Israelis and without preconditions they would not get a fair deal in negotiations.

The diplomats - including key US allies in Europe - also criticized the council's failure to take action against escalating violence by Israeli settlers and urged a speedy resumption of Israeli-Palestinian negotiations.

In February, according to German sources, Mr Netanyahu telephoned Ms Merkel to express disappointment at Germany's support of a UN resolution condemning Israel for its construction in settlements, a resolution vetoed by the US.

"How dare you," Ms Merkel reportedly responded to Mr Netanyahu's criticism. "You're the one who disappointed us. You haven't made a single step to advance peace."

U.S. President speaks before Union for Reform Judaism conference, stresses that U.S. support for Israel is 'unshakeable.'

December 16, 2011 "Haaretz" -- U.S. President Barack Obama gave the keynote address at the Union for Reform Judaism conference in Maryland on Friday, where he said that his administration has done more than any other to support Israel.

"It's hard to remember a time when the [U.S.] administration gave more support to the security of Israel. Don't let anyone to tell you otherwise. It's a fact," said Obama, who received a standing ovation and enthusiastic applause from the thousands of attendees at the conference. 

"We stand with Israel as a Jewish and democratic state," he said. "America's commitment and my commitment to the security of Israel are unshakeable."

Obama also reiterated that the U.S. is determined to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and that no options are off the table.

"We have imposed the most comprehensive, the hardest-hitting sanctions that the Iranian regime has ever faced," Obama said.

EMPIRE BURLESQUE: war without end…

Absurd; I wrote: “Obama wins the Nobel Prize for peace.” Because KSA is in the east, ahead by 3 hours of Europe and at least 8 hours ahead of the USA and the rest of the Americas, my post was ahead of the rest in our forum, which caught everyone by surprise.

The war in Iraq, viewed at whatever angle, is lost, evil, and monstrous, and cannot be undone. Nobody wins in a battle where more than a million are violently dead; millions are displaced or uprooted from their homes, and a trillion dollars were spent to destroy another country, and for what? It is mindboggling that whenever anyone sits back and views this war at a distance, it seems to be a war that just happened for no reason or with changing reasons as quick as the change of season…summer, winter, or fall.  It is diabolical for the USA to view the Iraq war only in terms of lives they lost, money they spent, and the wounded they have to take care of in years to come, as if the million Iraqi dead and millions displaced, the widowed, the orphaned, and the wrecked country they left behind did not matter at all. It is despicable…evil.

When will the USA ever have a leader who can, for once, tell the truth? Obama opposed this war while he was a budding congressman. The best he could have done is express remorse for the war and promise the young returning soldiers from Iraq: “never again” will their lives be sacrificed in an unjust war.

Line them up in the desert sand, walk past them, mile after mile, all those twisted corpses, those scraps of torn flesh and seeping viscera, those blank faces, those staring eyes fixed forever on nothingness.

This is the reality of what happened in Iraq; there is no other reality.

A keynote research paper showing that Middle Eastern Jews and Palestinians are genetically almost identical has been pulled from a leading journal.

Academics who have already received copies of Human Immunology have been advised to remove the offending pages and discard them.

Such a drastic act of self-censorship is unprecedented in the field of research publishing. It has created widespread disquiet, generating fears that it may involve the suppression of scientific work that questions Biblical dogma.

The paper, 'The Origin of Palestinians and their Genetic Relatedness with other Mediterranean Populations', involved studying genetic variations in immune system genes among people in the Middle East.

In common with earlier studies, the team found no evidence to support the notion that Jewish people were genetically distinct from other individuals in the region. In doing so, the team's research challenges claims that Jews are a special, chosen people and that Judaism can only be inherited.

Jews and Palestinians in the Middle East share a very similar gene pool and must be considered closely related and not genetically separate, the authors state. Rivalry between the two races is therefore based 'in cultural and religious, but not in genetic differences', they conclude.
