USA and Israel, when push comes to shove, are out of Iran’s reach, but you, you are a sitting duck across the Gulf. Hitting your oil platforms and Gas fields is what we call ‘chicken feed’ if and when Iran decides to cripple the West’s economy by torching the oil fields of the entire region. Oil is Iran’s weapon of mass destruction, and you are a stone's throw away from it. Be wise…not boastful. You might be a star in the eyes of the West, but are you in the eyes of your kin in the immediate neighborhood?

The Qatari Emir and his delegation also met several high-ranking Israeli officials.

I will rate the opening; instead, the first day…call it as you like, as living up to people’s expectations. It is better; forgive my choice if you are a Coco Martin fan, but the Impeachment really did make my day more than “Walang Hanggan” opening episode.

Funny, both corners claiming not ready agreed to postpone the second day of the show.

Oops! Why both sides? Good question; even the media missed the point. The prosecution insisted on beginning with the #2 article of impeachment, which was understandably opposed by the indefatigable 83-year-old orator Cuevas of the defense. I wish I could be as sharp and as booming of speech as the 83-year-old Cuevas when I get to that point in my age; well, if I ever get there. How many people reach that far in their lives…not many?

The prosecution insisted; they were ready for article number 2, not article number 1, while the defense prepared and were ready for article number one, not article number 2, meaning likewise, they were prepared and not ready, whoahaha! Where are the fireworks?

I think, and I am saying this with a grin on my face, that the prosecutors were influenced by a law professor from UP who appeared on TV Patrol on day 1 of the impeachment. Kabayan Noli asked the professor if she were given the choice, which of the articles of impeachment would she start with? The “ill-gotten wealth,” (sorry, I think she used another term), she replied without blinking. You are not going to put the CJ in jail or confiscate his properties. This is an impeachment court, not a criminal court. All you need to show is a “betrayal of public trust” that will render Corona unfit to sit as CJ, which is what this impeachment is all about, and besides, you have documents to support your claims. It is easy.

Obviously, the prosecutors took the cue :-)

The region is on a hair-trigger for a conflagration that would involve nuclear weapons and the collision of global powers in what would constitute World War III. The consequences are barely imaginable for the loss of life in such a scenario and for the very future of the planet. Yet, all the while, the mainstream media has served to justify this march to war or to downplay its horrific possibilities.

The complacency of Western public opinion-- including segments of the US anti-war movement-- is disturbing. No concern has been expressed at the political level as to the likely consequences of a US-NATO-Israel attack on Iran using nuclear weapons against a non-nuclear state.

Such an action would result in "the unthinkable": a nuclear holocaust over a large part of the Middle East. It should be noted that a nuclear nightmare would occur even if nuclear weapons were not used. The bombing of Iran's nuclear facilities using conventional weapons would contribute to unleashing a Chernobyl-Fukushima type disaster with extensive radioactive fallout.

The "Globalization of War," involving the hegemonic deployment of a formidable US-NATO military force in all major regions of the World, is inconsequential in the eyes of the Western media.

War is not front-page news in comparison to the most insignificant issues of public concern, including local crime scenes or tabloid gossip reports on Hollywood celebrities. The broader implications of this war on Iran are either trivialized or not mentioned. People are led to believe that war is part of a "humanitarian mandate" and that both Iran and Iran's allies, namely China and Russia, constitute an unrelenting threat to global security and "Western democracy".

In the face of ceaseless media disinformation, we at Global Research are committed to raising public awareness of the injustice and criminality being perpetrated by Western governments. That extrasolar planets should be even more common than stars, which themselves seem innumerable, lends support to the hope that somewhere up in the night sky, circling one of those stars, is a world like Earth where life may have had a chance to take root, and maybe even have evolved into an intelligent form.

OIL: IRAN’S WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION

The USA must have realized that Iran is not bluffing, and with the prices of oil rising due to the simple threat of closing the Strait of Hormuz, Uncle Sam must have found some ways (although the content of this letter has not yet been divulged) to accommodate Iran’s concerns. I don’t really believe that the USA is looking for a fight with Iran, especially with its forces already fatigued from a decade of war; opening a new front may prove too much to bear, even for the empire, not to mention its mounting debts hovering sky high. It is stupendously stupid (my opinion) if the USA goes to war with Iran at this point in its history. Zion will have to wait; the world will not end in 2012, but ah, Israel can do it alone and drag everyone else, not by choice, to that end…

Iran's Foreign Ministry states that it has received a US message regarding the Strait of Hormuz through three separate channels.

“The US Ambassador to the UN Susan Rice had handed a letter to Iran's Ambassador to the UN Mohammad Khazaei; the Swiss Ambassador to Tehran [Livia Leu Agosti] also conveyed the same thing; and Iraqi President Jalal Talabani delivered the same message to Iranian officials,” Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said Sunday.

It boggles the mind to see human do evil things to another whom he had not known, not quarreled with, not even know his name or if he has small children drowning him in laughter at home or a loving wife worrying about the taste of the meal she prepared for him not to mention that he travelled half across the globe to do it. He came to destroy and kill, then he opens his crotch and pees on the body of his victims; what evil, what monster…how demonic; it is almost beyond words to describe what animal of a man would do such monstrosity to another, and yet it is what the world has become.

A woman perfectly pretty cheered for the Marines pissing on their victims’ corpses because, according to her, the murderers of 3,000 at the 9/11 incident deserve the treatment their dead bodies received.

What an evil, ignorant moron: The Taliban were never responsible for 9/11, and even the Al Qa’eda they accused of 9/11 were paid for and brought to Afghanistan by the US government. I heard it (CNN) from the mouth of Gen. Collin Powell that the US government gave Osama Bin Laden and his group 3 billion; yes, 3 billion dollars in cash and arms and trained them in the art of the kill.

January 13, 2012 "Gawker" -- A video emerges showing US Marines pissing on three Taliban corpses in Afghanistan. The outrage machine grinds into motion. The media bestirs itself from its slumber. Americans momentarily pay attention to the war in Afghanistan again. Politicians rush to add their names to the chorus of identical statements. All inflamed over the least bad thing that soldiers do in war.

Do you know what is worse than having your dead body urinated upon? Being killed. Being shot. Being bombed. Having your limbs blown off. Having your house incinerated by a drone-fired missile that you don't see until it explodes. Having your children blown up in their beds. Having your spouse killed. Having your hometown destroyed. Being displaced. Becoming a refugee. Having your entire life destroyed as a consequence of political forces far, far beyond your control.

War is horrible. War is sickening. Wars started for supremely righteous causes are just as horrible and sickening in their consequences as wars started for less than righteous causes. Politicians who sit in office chairs and start wars and wave flags as young men and women go off to kill and die and be psychologically and emotionally damaged for life are the most sickening of all. Politicians start wars and are rewarded with an appearance on weekend talk shows and Very Respectable Discussions with Very Respectable media figures and jokes at the White House Correspondent's Dinner and appearances on Leno and ghostwritten self-glorifying memoirs and lavishly catered fundraising parties with corporate executives. They should be rewarded with outrage. They should be rewarded with scorn. Starting a war is a monstrous, monstrous crime against humanity, as we know when it begins that no matter how cleanly it is conducted it will result in thousands upon thousands of bullets smashing men's skulls and arms and legs blown off by shrapnel and mothers and children incinerated by high explosives. And every extra day that a war is perpetuated unnecessarily is a crime anew.

Why is President Obama sending 12, 000 U.S. troops to Libya?

January 13, 2012 "Information Clearing House" ---  It is with great disappointment that I receive the news from foreign media publications and Libyan sources that our President now has 12,000 U.S. troops stationed in Malta and they are about to make their descent into Libya.

Now, from Libya, reports are that even while the Misrata rebels (NATO allies responsible for the murder of hundreds of Libyans, including Moatessem Qaddafi) attempted to scale the petroleum platforms in Brega (an important oil town in Libya), they were annihilated by the Apache helicopters of their own NATO allies. A resistance Libyan doctor-become-journalist reported yesterday that all of the petroleum platforms are occupied by NATO and that warships occupy Libya’s ports. Photographs show Italian encampments in the desert with an announcement that the French are to follow. Another news outlet reports that Qataris and Emiratees are the engineers now at the oil plants, turning away desperate Libyan workers. While long lines exist for Libyan drivers to get their gas, foreign troops ensure the black gold’s export. Libyans lack enough food and the basics, the country has been turned upside down, and contaminated with uranium while the true number of dead and unaccounted for remains high and unknown. Thousands of young Libyans, supporters of the Jahamiriya, languish under torture and assassination in a Misrata prison where a humanitarian disaster is about to unfold because Misrata rebels want to kill them all and have already attacked the prison once to do so. An urgent appeal to contact the International Red Cross was issued yesterday to help save the lives of the prisoners. And finally, Black Libyans continue to be targeted for harassment and murder in Libya by US/NATO allies on the ground. Teaching hate, given the images of U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan released yesterday, urinating on Afghani dead bodies, is not a difficult thing to do, it would seem. Videos are posted of Black Libyans being beaten, whipped, threatened, harassed, and humiliated. These videos remind me of the antebellum South–reminiscent of the days of slavery and The Confederacy. So, when I use the word “descend” to describe U.S. anticipated actions, I mean just that: U.S. troops are about to descend into the hell on Earth created by their President and the leaders of other countries who approved of, aided, or participated in the death of Libyan-owned society. A report from last night indicates that one militia, fearing other militias even invited foreigners in to protect them.
